History

Courtney has experience resolving an array of civil litigation matters, including personal injury, product liability, and construction defect cases. 

Prior to solving disputes at Capshaw & Associates, Courtney served as a Briefing Attorney to the Honorable Justice Douglas S. Lang of the Fifth District Texas Court of Appeals. As a briefing attorney, Courtney learned valuable insight into the appellate process, which she now uses to provide unique and specialized value to clients. 

Courtney received her J.D., cum laude, from SMU Dedman School of Law, where she graduated in the top twenty-five percent of her class and was inducted into the National Order of Barristers for her accomplishments in oral and written advocacy, an honor bestowed on only ten members of the graduating class. While in law school, Courtney externed for the Honorable Stacey G.C. Jernigan of the United States Bankruptcy Court in the Northern District of Texas and also served as Chief Counsel of the SMU Criminal Law Clinic.
